to get into the boy's soul...

Is this implying some kind of troll toll? (what you say?)

LARP

All my BYU friends are familiar with the wooden sword fighting club that would on the regular conduct battle outside the HFAC. If you're still not getting the picture of what LARPing is, just do a little research on the internets. Its also been the subject of the great documentary, Darkon. So IMDB that one if you must.

After you become a bit familiar with LARPing, and have a basic background in it, watch this.

I'm sure many of you have seen it, but I don't care. Its a good time every time.

Im not going to have immidiate access to this.

This is sad. Ever since my sweet, sweet mother introduced me to this it has been a guilty pleasure. Why guilty? well, because its one of the dirtiest shows out obviously.

There was a time a couple years back when Jenny and I were living with my parents before they fled the country. We would be trying to go to sleep when we would hear uncontrolled cackling from the front room. What on earth could be the source of this racket? Why, my mom of course, watching season 1 episodes of Always Sunny. She briefly explained the premise of the show, and then gave the caveat that it was kind of dirty... Kind of? but really, not since arrested development has a show made me laugh as much as this one. I mean, Sweet Dee going headfirst into a car door? hilarious.

Due to our current cable situation I'm going to have to catch this season online instead of when I should be catching it. Oh well, better late than never I guess.

... we stand on guard for thee...

So I'm reading up on some Canadian military exercises in the arctic. I like to keep abreast of the happenings up there you know. Apparently with the polar ice melt going on that region is becoming of increasing stratigic importance. An actual northwest passage.

As I read this article I thought to myself, 'self, what is the biggest threat facing Canadas finest in any looming potential arctic conflict? Russians? inclimate weather? No. It is none of the above.

"This is where the Canadian Rangers, in their distinctive red sweatshirts and caps, come into their own. Reservists from northern communities, they make up the bulk of Canada’s permanent military presence in the Arctic. “we watch out for bears" says Tom Buzzell, a ranger from Haines Junction in the Yukon territory. In the Yukon, grizzlies and black bears are the threat. Here on rocky and treeless Baffin Island, it’s polar bears."

What a champ... What a role model...

What a winner. I wish I could have found a picture of her in mid racquet smash.
On another note, doesn't the referee look like John Kerry?
